Aromatic underground mushroom, its most famous and expensive type is certainly the White Truffle of Alba. But there are 13 edible species that can be harvested in Italy. In Veneto and its surroundings there is the Black Truffle or the Moscato, very fragrant and tasty.
Truffle hunting with a properly trained dog, traditionally conducted at dawn but feasible during the day, can last about 3 hours and is an excellent excuse for a walk in the woods. It can be completed with a cooking class. The egg tagliatelle with truffle are classic, but they can be prepared from appetizers to desserts.
